It’s not too late to enter the South Side Pie Challenge! We have room in every category for your pie: creme, nut, sweet potato/pumpkin, and fruit. Your $25 registration fee, payable via paypal, will go straight to the Hyde Park/Kenwood Hunger Programs, including their food pantry and soup kitchen.
Not a baker? Then join us as a volunteer and serve pie! Here’s the link:
If you can’t volunteer you may just wish to bring your family and friends and come eat pie for $3 a slice, with coffee generously donated by Robust Coffee Lounge. In addition to pie there will be local musicians and activities for kids (but really, who needs more than pie?).
Join us this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m at Ray School, 5631 S. Kimbark, as we celebrate all things pie, honor local bakers, and raise money for a great cause!
Welcome back, bakers and pie fans, for South Side Pie Challenge 2013!
We had a great time last year. And we raised $2000 for the Hyde Park Hunger Programs! So many neighbors and friends came together to socialize, celebrate pie, and contribute to a great cause–the community support and everyone’s enthusiasm far exceeded our expectations!
Our contest this year will take place Saturday November 2nd, once again at Ray School in Hyde Park, 5631 S. Kimbark Avenue. Details, rules, and all the other information you need are on this website, and you can also like us on facebook for news, baking tips, and all things pie.
We are elated to open registration for the 2nd Annual South Side Pie Challenge, and happily anticipate another great day of pie appreciation and south side pride!
Why? Because everyone loves pie!
